I had a plan…

I had a plan…

“You can make many plans, but the lord’s purpose will prevail.”

– Proverbs 19:21

All my life I had a plan…a plan to go to a certain school, work a certain job, marry a certain boy. Guess what? Life doesn’t work that way. That school, that job, that boy you’re wondering about… they don’t exist in my life anymore. But you want to know what does?? A career, a life, and a man that I absolutely love that was not part of that original plan.

How I ended up loving a man that serves our country 5,000 miles away is still a puzzle to me, but God put him in my life and I am grateful for that small fate each and every day. If it weren’t for him, I may have never opened my eyes to what’s outside of this small town. It sure isn’t easy being this far apart, but it makes the trips that much more exciting.

Our very first trip together was Italy & Austria. Spending the holidays in Europe was like a dream come true. The Christmas Markets in Italy with lots of delicious vin brulé, skiing down the Austrian Alps, celebrating New Year’s Eve on a beautiful lake in Austria, and lots of hiking made for an unforgettable adventure. (more details to come in later posts, so stay tuned!)

In just a mere EIGHT days I’ll be packing my bags, headed back to Europe…this time to Oslo, Norway to meet up with him for a true Viking experience! We’ll be exploring the famous Norwegian fjords, checking out the Viking museums, and taking in all of the hiking we possibly can. You can bet there will be lots of pictures to follow our next adventure! In the meantime, here are a few pictures from our last trip.
