    Perks of Being a Teacher

    Yeah, I know what you’re thinking…you don’t read many articles about the perks of being a teacher anymore. Everything is always so negative when it comes to this profession. But, in my experience and in this case, there are many perks. Teaching high school kids is far from a piece of cake. We’re less than 10 years apart in age so I have a very different style of teaching. Some days I think “holy mother father what have I gotten myself into”…other days I want to squeeze them and freeze time because I’m so proud of them, and some days I just laugh uncontrollably because of the crazy things they’ve said.…

    Norway in 3 Days

    Day 1: Oslo After a long 15 hour trip from Charlotte, NC to Oslo, Norway, it was such a relief to be back in the familiar arms of my man! We grabbed our bags and walked over to the most gorgeous and welcoming hotel, Radisson Blu. It was so nice to be able to walk from the airport to the hotel without having to worry about transportation. The hotel was beautiful on the inside and the outside, and our room was very modern. One of the first European hotels I’ve seen that actually had a bathtub and the beds weren’t split into two!

    I had a plan…

    “You can make many plans, but the lord’s purpose will prevail.” – Proverbs 19:21 All my life I had a plan…a plan to go to a certain school, work a certain job, marry a certain boy. Guess what? Life doesn’t work that way. That school, that job, that boy you’re wondering about… they don’t exist in my life anymore. But you want to know what does?? A career, a life, and a man that I absolutely love that was not part of that original plan.
