We’ve Moved (& More Life Updates) | Germany to Colorado

Whew, it’s been a while yall! The last blog I wrote was back in June of 2021. I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since then. So much has happened since we moved from Germany to Colorado, so let’s do a recap of the last year…

We came down with military orders in August 2021 that set us to leave Grafenwoehr, Germany in early November 2021. That’s when things really got busy. I got pregnant for the second time in a few short months after a miscarriage, we had to make all of our out-processing appointments, organize and purge things from our home, and get ready to ship all of our household goods back to the US. Things were crazy with building a home, site unseen, and trying to close without ever stepping foot in Colorado Springs.

It was a lot to get ready to move. We said goodbye to our household goods at the end of October and moved into the hotel on base for 10 days.

It was hard to say bye to the friends that we made during our time in Germany, but we were eager for the next chapter in our story. We successfully made it to North Carolina with a toddler and large dog in tow, where we spent the next month living with my parents before the final leg of our Germany to Colorado move.

We spent the first Thanksgiving in North Carolina with my family in 4 years. It was so wonderful to all be together and spend time with those I hadn’t seen in months/years.

Right after Thanksgiving, we packed up our bags (again) and headed out west to our new home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We spared no time before getting out to explore and travel. Our bucket list items to visit the Garden of the Gods and the Great Sand Dunes National Park were checked off first. We spent Christmas at home with a real tree for the first time in my life.

Lillie started gymnastics, we had our first snow — absolutely beautiful — and have made so many wonderful memories in a short amount of time.

Biggest Life Update

The best thing to happen to us so far was the birth of our son, Levi, who was born on March 3rd. He’s been a wonderful addition to our family. Our hearts (and laps) are very full. Lillie is an amazing big sister and loves to hold her brother. So far, he loves to travel and we’ve been able to get back into some pretty awesome hiking and exploring.

We currently spend a lot of our time making our new house into a home, gardening, meeting up with friends, and catching up on lost time with family in town visiting.

That’s pretty much the highlights from the last year and our move from Germany to Colorado 🙂 I hope you all, my readers, are having a good 2022 so far and will continue to follow along for more blog posts to come about our last European trips and some fun Colorado adventures.
